The East Valley Fire Department serves the residents of Terrace Heights, Moxee and
the all the area east of the Yakima River from ridge-top to ridge-top. We
are bordered on the west by the Cities of Yakima and Union Gap, on the north by

the Yakima Army firing range and to the south by Fire District #5, the
Lower Valley Fire Department.
EVFD is a municipal corporation and political subdivsion of the State of Washington.
We are governed by a 3 person elected Board of Fire Commissioners.
The Fire Commissioners serve six year terms. The Board meets on the
2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Meetings are held at East Valley Station 40,
2003 Beaudry Rd, Yakima WA.
Effective February 1, 2006, our insurance rating is a 5 with a tender credit. This
class 5 will only apply to commercial buildings with standard hydrant distribution
and water supply. All reidential properties within 5 road miles of a recognized
fire station also receive a Class 5 rating.
We have 4 stations covering 15,000 citizens in an area of 125 square miles.
We are a combination department of volunteer, paid on call and paid members. We rely on our members to respond to
emergencies. Members are required to maintain high levels of training
and proficiency.
